The Best Morning Routine for You Based on Your Love Language

Building an effective morning routine packed with self love will help you start your day with a calm mind, ready to be productive.

Everyone experiences love differently – both in relationships and self love, too. This is where your love language comes in.

Your love language is the way that you give and receive love the best based on your personality. While this concept is important in personal relationships, it can also tell you which self love habits will have the biggest impact in your daily routine.

To find out what your love language is take the test and then find out what your personalized morning routine is.

Words of Affirmation: Daily Affirmations

If your love language is words of affirmation this means that verbal confirmation means a lot to you and helps you feel secure. In terms of self love, this means that positive words build up your confidence. It also means that negative self-criticism can put a greater weight on your mind.

Because words are so important with this love language, reciting daily affirmations is an effective way to boost self love and start your day off with confidence. Choose a phrase that resonates with you. An example would be, “Asking for help is a sign of strength and self-awareness, not weakness.” Once you have selected your self affirmation, stand in front of the mirror and recite it several times each morning.

Quality Time: Mindful Meditation

When quality time is your love language, this means you appreciate the time that you invest in yourself. Taking the time to step away from other people and responsibilities to enjoy some quiet, alone time will help you feel fueled and ready to tackle the day.

Meditation is a great activity for your morning routine that will help you feel more present and relaxed. Find a quiet area in your home or outside for your meditation practice. Make this time for mindfulness a sacred part of your morning routine – don’t schedule things over it and keep this as protected quality time with yourself.

Physical Touch: Skin Care Routine

Physical touch as a love language means that you value physical connection and respond to self love activities that are physically involved. A daily skin care routine will provide an opportunity for physical touch each morning.

Create a skin care routine for your skin type and make that routine a habit. Notice how each product feels against your skin. Don’t rush through this routine, but really take the time to mindfully apply each skin care step.

Receiving Gifts: Treat Yourself to a Nice Breakfast

If receiving gifts is your love language, don’t worry – this does not mean you are materialistic. This love language simply means that you feel appreciated when you receive a meaningful gift.

To incorporate this love language into your morning routine, treat yourself to a healthy breakfast that will keep you energized for the day. Buy yourself a nice coffee or stop for your favorite breakfast sandwich. You can also invest in kitchen appliances that will be a gift that keeps on giving each morning, like an espresso machine.

Acts of Service: Get Organized for the Day

If acts of service is your love language then the actions you do for yourself will speak louder than words. Think of the type of actions that your future self will thank you for.

Once of the best acts of service to do for yourself every morning is to get organized for the day. Use a planner to write out a to-do list and outline your schedule for the day. Take the time to prioritize tasks and estimate how long each one will take to avoid overscheduling yourself.

Those are the self care ideas to add to your morning routine based on your love language.

Building a self love morning routine that is tailored to your personality and personal needs will help you improve mental health. Be sure to take the test and learn what your love language is!
